Barbados-Southern-Attractions Christ Church
Ocean Park
Ocean Park is one of Barbados latest attractions and one that I truly enjoyed. I visited this marine aquarium in 2007 on my yearly Christmas visit. I was very impressed by the setup of the displays and the story which is being told at each showcase.
The Ocean Park has a variety of sea life and one of its highlights is the feeding of the sharks. I was truly impressed. I also like that fact you are given an opportunity to speak with the guides who are so educated about all types of aquarium life. I will be visiting again this year to see what new marine life has been added.
Graeme Hall Sanctuary
Graeme Hall Sanctuary is an attraction located in this southern parish you should definitely visit especially if you love nature and birds.
I don’t know how many species of birds live and visit this sanctuary; but there are many. In the Graeme Hall Swamp (as we locals describe it) there is also some marine life and the famous green monkey.
South Point Lighthouse
South Point Lighthouse is one of Barbados famous landmarks. It was the first of four lighthouses built in the island. Although it is no longer in use, Bajans still visit it as a reminder of our past.
This lighthouse is known for its bright red and white colors.
