Barbados Water SportsBarbados Water Sports – enough and more than enough for any vacation. Water Sports in Barbados can be found on nearly all coastal areas–both on the Atlantic Ocean coastal line and the Caribbean Sea coastal line. Because of the calmness of the Caribbean Sea, water sports such as snorkeling, fishing, waterskiing, jet-ski, windsurfing, and some diving and parasailing are performed. Parishes where these water sports are found - Christ Church, St. Michael and St. James. All other water activities are found on the Atlantic Ocean side. The Atlantic Ocean brings with it high tides and surfs which is great for surfing. The Barbados Surfing Association usually has a surfing competition during November. Equipment needed to operate and have fun with these water sports can be rented from various venues. There are also some clubs that give free or paid lessons to persons willing to take the plunge with these water sports. If you're like me and don’t have the nerves for many of these water sports, you can still enjoy the ocean by hopping aboard one of the many day or night sea cruises organized by various tour operators. There are many – Atlantis lll, Jolly Roger, Limbo Lady, Harbour Master, Heatwave, and the Tiami. A cruise is usually four-five hours and include music, food and drink. Must warn you to be careful with the Rum-punch - sweet but... My favorite, however, is Rubaiyat, I know one of the persons involved with this cruise. Lot of fun, music and food!
