Gun Hill Signal Station
Barbados_CentralParishes_Attractions!
Gun Hill Signal Station was once used as the main signal station in Barbados. Its main purpose was to alert military personnel at other signal stations across the island about any ships or vessels approaching Barbados sea shores. At this signal station you will also see remnant of cannons used back in those early days.
Most noticeable before you reach the signal station is the formation of a lion which was carved from a stone by a British officer while at the station. We refer to this lion at “the lion at Gun Hill”
Gun Hill Signal Station is built on a plateau and therefore gives visitors some spectacular views of the South, East, and West coast of the island. Make sure you have your camera when you visit this historic site.
Orchid World
Orchid World, its name describes its beauty. I believe that this garden has almost every known orchid to exist anywhere in the world. I have never seen so many colors of orchids in anyone place until a visit to Orchid World.
Take your time and browse; when tired sit on the many benches available, it is breathtaking and enchanting stroll you will never forget.
