Barbados Holiday Checklist
A Barbados Holiday! Nice!
So you’ve decided to visit my homeland! But before you board that plane or cruise ship make sure you have and know the following:
Valid passport and a return travel ticket. (for some countries you will need a visa, check with your local consulate office to find out if you need one).
Have enough money to prove to immigration that you can take care of yourself while on your Barbados vacation. We have our own currency and currently its value is approximately US$1.00 = BDS $2.00. Our dollar does not fluctuate.
Choose and book your accommodations ahead of time, they are usually much cheaper and you have more options. Even your airfare is much cheaper if booked a few months in advance. I book my Christmas holiday during August and usually gets a great price.
Barbados has one airport- Grantley Adams International Airport- (airport code: BGI) so you won’t have a problem deciding on which airport.
Pick up a map of Barbados before you come so as to get familiar with the names of the parishes (there are eleven of them) or you can pick up one at the airport when you arrive. Maps usually have more than just streets names; they also include places of interest; duty free shopping information and the likes…
All packed and ready, read some more local facts so that you are really prepared to enjoy my homeland.
