Oughterson Zoo

One southern attraction in St. Philip parish is the Oughterson Zoo. I visited this zoo a long time ago as I had friends that lived near the zoo. Although small in size you can still find many unique animals and birds which wander freely about in their surroundings.

Of course you will find the green monkeys and many blackbelly sheep. Yes, the coats under their bellies are really black! They are a pretty sight. I think they are unique and cute.

Sunbury Plantation House

Sunbury Plantation House is built on one of Barbados oldest sugar estates. The plantation house has a lot of history attached to it. There is a lot to see especially if you have a love for antique furniture.

The plantation house that currently exists on the present site was built in recent times since a fire destroyed the previous one during 1995. Many of the current items in the house were donated after the fire. To me the plantation house has the same look and feel as it had before the fire. I love the lunches that are served daily and I understand from other friends that the dinners are also great.
